Salam 1Malaysia! Happy Chinese New Year to all Malaysians who celebrate this auspicious event. Each year as the season draws near I am reminded of the excitement and merriment I experienced as a child during Chinese New Year . Mum and dad would visit our Chinese friends, and I would always tag along. I always look forward to savouring the many delicacies, favorites being kuih kapit, kuih bangkit, pineapple tarts and "ngaku" crackers, with Mandarin oranges always on top of the list. A wide smile would cross my face when I received "angpows" from my parents' friends. Today, the celebrations have grown to include sate, ais kacang, mi rebus and maruku even! May the Year of the Rabbit bring blessings of much happiness, good health and prosperity always. With new beginnings comes new opportunities and as we usher in the Lunar New Year, it is my sincere hope that you achieve success and satisfaction in all your undertakings. What so great about CNY? 1. A lot of entertainment Be it firecracker, movie, teluk batik, tv show... 2. A lot of food Unlimited junk food. Sarsi, mandarin oranges, dried meat, peanut.. believe me.. its unlimited. No ppl will stop you. When they see you are eating (too much), they will just said :"Help to take one for me!" 3. A lot of joke & noise I believe my relative are collecting jokes for 51 weeks then share all of them in CNY. You will laugh your head off with those jokes. And you cant sleep before 12am because people are watching tv, playing firecracker, gambling! 4. A lot of Angpow No matter you are receiving or giving. Each of them represent a blessing! 5. A lot of time and freedom Your parent will not have time to look after you (when you young). You can easily spend your days watching tv, gambling, playing games, eating, sleeping the whole days.
