how many weighting will you do?
I found this question from past yrs paper of one of my subject. Well, it from algorithm analysis and i found this question interesting. somehow it like a iq question.
here it goes:
+++++
You have 70 coins that are all supposed to be gold coins of the same weight, but you know that one coin is fake and weights less than the others. you have a balance scale; you can put any number of coins on each side of the scale at one time, and it will tell you if the 2 sides weight the same, or which side is lighter if they do not weigth the same.
Outline an algorithm for finding the fake coin. *ignore this part*
how many weighting will you do?
